Built on co-operation.
Designed for trust.

SEAF is owned and operated by WABSI and WAMSI, with ARDC as a key partner. Strategic oversight is provided by a joint board sub-committee of WABSI and WAMSI. Expertise comes primarily from both organisations and their partners, with additional specialist input from external experts when needed.

A governance model designed for collaboration

SEAF treats governance as part of the infrastructure itself, using a hub-and-spoke model that distributes authority across different levels. This ensures no single party controls the system, the science or the outcomes.

  • System-level governance (hub): Provide shared rules, standards and integrity
  • Regional-level governance (spoke): Manages regional priorities, participants and products, and what happens inside each spoke or analytical environment
  • Scientific leadership: To ensure integrity

Together, this structure provides:

  • Local control within each spoke
  • Consistency across spokes
  • A consistent ecosystem of shared infrastructure built around integrity and trust

The result is strong, accountable, spoke-centred decision making without fragmentation or informal arrangements that depend on goodwill.
